I upgraded my PC to Windows 8 Pro over the Thanksgiving weekend.
So far, so good. It has been a bit of a learning curve, but not anything too dramatic. I like it so far.
Has anyone else upgraded? If so what are your thoughts?
Any hints or tricks you want to share?
Thanks.

Not yet, just got done ordering the last components for a new rig. I like Win 7 Ultimate, works well for what I need (work from home on occassion). But, I've used 8 quite a bit during the beta timeframe. I'll check out my newsletter subscriptions and see if I can send you anything useful.

I've been pondering this for a while but I mainly use my laptop for Office, CAD, Matlab, Internet, etc so I don't see myself really benefiting from it. I might load it on a spare laptop when I have more time around the holidays but it's not going on my production machine for a while!

Got a chance to use it on a friends laptop. Feels to "Restricted" to me.. Im sticking with 7 ultimate. Ive heard theres a few compatibility issues with certain programs and even hardware..

I'm gonna wait for the 1st SP.

One of my friends at work installed it in a school pc lab and found none of his oldish printers work , due to lack of drivers

I upgraded a few weeks ago, so far I like it. Feels a bit more intuitive at times, but its stock programs for viewing photos and pdfs and videos/music are pretty bad. But that is to be expected.

I like the idea of the widgets but its kinda tedious at times, especially when I want to go into control panel, and I have to go through all these subscreens and then do a search.

Some aspects are kool but I think they forgot somewhere that its a pc not some mobile. Or maybe they wanted the integration?

There seems to be a trend with Windows. Every other OS turns out ok.. 97 was good, 2000 was crap, Xp was good, Vista was crap, 7 IS great, 8 is crap...
