I've been thinking about converting my keyboard, or trying to find one already made. Any opinions?

Some people like them. Some people hate them. Only way to find out is to try it.

Me? I tough type 100+wpm and have since I was in junior high. I've got too much muscle memory to want to swap now.

I never used the keyboard but his Symphony from the New World is a real favorite of mine.

You can get used to any keyboard. I got a split keyboard and now I don't want to go back the old style. When I was in the Air Force, I had to use 3 different keyboards, switching back and forth all day -- a regular manual typewriter, a telegraphic (ALL CAPS) keyboard, and a teletype machine that printed a dot-coded tape that I had to be able to read.

The Dvorak isn't worth the effort unlessyoutyperealfast or intend to learn to do so.

Dvorak keyboards suck. You can't even type "typewriter" using only the top row of keys. ;)

i type in dvorak, but i leave my actual keyboard in qwerty. it helps because i'm not always the only one who uses my computer, and i'm no longer inclined to look down at the keys anymore when i type.

I use a kinesis ergo keyboard in dvorak on my linux box. I'm thinking about getting a standard flat keyboard for it soon though. I bought it because I had wrist problems that were quite bad, but they've gone away over the past few years. I do most of my computing on my laptop these days anyways, and thats a standard layout keyboard. Dvorak is cool and all, and once you learn it, it just feels right to type on, but I don't do as much typing now as I did in college, so I really just don't care anymore.
