Anyone use a Palm with a keyboard?

I'm thinking about getting a Palm with the optional keyboard for taking notes in class (I know, how's that for a lazy college student  ;)). My laptop is more of a desktop replacement so bringing it to class is a little inconvenient.

What I'm wondering is how well it transfers to the computer (I'm using Microsoft Word). Does the formatting get messed up from the the Palm program to Word (ie: Would I have to do a lot of editing once I transfer it, or is it pretty much plug it in download and print them off?). If anyone has any experience with the aforementioned I'd like to know what you think of the system and if it is worth it.

Thanks.

If you want to transfer back to MS Word, get WordSmith. Its a great little app that will do everything you want!

Wordsmith is the way to go. You can easily transfer your notes to your computer and vice versa. Go to Blue Nomad and give it a trial run. I have used it since it first came out.

I haven't tried Wordsmith, but I use QuickOffice. It transfers back and forth and uses the same formatting. It also uses Excel. It has worked flawlessly.

I believe that they have a trial version. You can also download just Quickword by itself.

I have a keyboard (brand new, never used) I will sell you cheap if it will work with your palm. I have the software also.

I use the Targus keyboard with my Visor. I'm very happy with it. It does add a notable drain on the batteries, but is good for fast note-taking in a small package. Also good on public transit if you have a book for the keyboard to rest on. I use QuickOffice.

Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately books for next quarter are going to be over $300  . So, it looks like I'll be sticking to my trusty old pen and paper.
