Found pictures of this sheath elsewhere on this forum. Thought is was an interesting design with the attachments and pouch. This one is set up for a Busse...anyone use one like this for a BK9?

I'm amazed that you found a picture of someone actually using a Busse lol
That is a serious allegation tanker. To be fair, this is only evidence of carrying one for a photoshoot.

Seriously though, ive been poking around the busse forum and there are more users than i would have thought. Nothing like the becker forum though! I have my first busse (bb13) coming tuesday that i got in a trade, you can bet it’ll get put to work!

I had a bk7 sheath with too much stuff attached

I have a leather bk9 sheath with a pouch and fire loop. ill post photos in a bit.

Just thought I'd toss the sheath pics out there as an interesting adaptation. Meshach...thanks for the link! The pictures were from a SAR rig, so they probably keep a pretty close eye on their equipment. My oldest son's a USFS wildland fire fighter...I asked him if any of his crew carried rigs like that. He said they only carry things they don't mind accidently losing in a fire. Based on that, don't think you'll find many Busses in the fire fighter crews.

I've never seen a Busse knife in real life, but I know they're pricey. Coming from Tramontina/Mora land (where expensive = $25) and branching out into Beckers, I can't say I'd ever spend enough on a knife to buy a Busse. If I did, it better say "Stihl" on the side and have an motor. That being said, I really appreciate the price point of Beckers compared to other knives...even if I can only afford one in a year.

The Kabar Johnson Adventure line has an interesting sheath design.

A lot of my wandering and woods loafing has been off trail in the eastern hardwoods.... I tend to keep a sheath on a pretty strict diet to keep it away from catching on vines, brambles And the like and, I like to spread the load around... A sak, BIC and a flashlight in the left front pocket, gorilla tape on a key card, decoy line on a card in the left front cargo.... Wallet and (where legal) a lightweight .22 revolver in the right front with a small first aid packet and hand sanitizer (great antiseptic and fire starter) in the right cargo.... A BK11 with MacIntyre rig is in a pocket around town and handle up around the neck off sidewalk...Oh, and a compass, always carry a compass.... If all your gear is on the sheath of your “big” knife and you lose that one thing - you are screwed.....

Hope this helps...

Uncle E - You forgot one item - A MAP. Having a compass and knowing which way is north is great thing, but without a map of the area you are in, it's kinda hard to tell which way to go to get home.:D "Follow the water down hill" can get you into big trouble if you end up dropping into a box canyon.

Back when I did a ton of hiking/camping, I ALWAYS carried a USGS 1:24000 map of the area I was in. If I was going into the far boonies, I also carried the adjacent sector maps as well. 8 or 9 maps can be a little bulky, but they weigh next to nothing. 1/4 pound of maps are worth more than their weight in gold if you end up needing them.

Some USGS maps are no longer available in paper, since they quit printing them in 2009, but you can still get them via online vendors. And some vendors sell copies of the originals.

I know that you can download "maps" to your phone, but if you drain your phone battery, you are SOL if you need your map.

All I did was post a picture lol And I don't carry gloves and I should. I will now:thumbsup:

I see one of these sheaths being essential if you carry it in your truck or camper. Maybe attached to a backpack.
A little much on your belt.
