I was just wondering if anybody uses their 18th century model khuks? I have one but have never gotten around to really using it. I wonder if the "lines/file teeth" on the sides of the blade effect it's performance or get clogged with wood or whatever you are cutting or chopping. This is a really cool looking khukuri and I am surprised we don't hear more about it. What are your thoughts on this unique khukuri?!?!?!:)

I had one but traded it for a custom made fighting hawk with spike. I'm glad I got the hawk, and it was worth the trade to me but I wish they'd build a few more 18th Centurys.

What I noticed about it was the such abrupt bend that when you went to use it turned it's point into a "hammer the nail" strike with the point being the nail driving into and through whatever you aimed at. It reminds me of not a hawk but a spontoon.

In addition to a hammer strike it is the only khukri I've handled that I'd use like a hay hook ( yes, I remember bucking bales of hay up onto a trailer ) to pull an opponent into range of whatever was in my off hand.

Must have traded it nearly 3 years ago but I still remember how it taught me things no other khuk would or could do.
It confirmed my belief in what Uncle says about the khukuri choosing it's rightful and proper owner.

A very different khukuri, and definitely for a warrior.

Chris I used mine for quite some time there for a while. I really like the 18th Century's cutting abilities.
As my little Bro Rusty has said,
"Must have traded it nearly 3 years ago but I still remember how it taught me things no other khuk would or could do."

The 18th Century definitely has some different cutting capabilitie's and I for one like the way it handles, but I can also understand it wouldn't be for everyone.
The grooved blade isn't any worse than the rest to take care of AFAIC, but then I fall back on my old saying,
"What are you willing to give up to get what you want?"

Different trees and other chopping targets may make it more difficult in some areas that aren't like the ones here where I live so YMMV.:)

Edited for punctuation. :grumpy:
