Their seemed to be a lot of excitement when the Magnum Camp was released a few months ago, but I have not seen much talk on them recently. Does anyone use their? Also, what do you use them for? Pics would be nice if you have any. Thanks.

I like the looks of the BK5, but I'm not sure what I would use it for. It is a sweet looking blade though, I must say.

BRab, I love my 5 so much!! I had a hard time to get excited about it. I wanted another Becker after getting the 2 and 7. So I got the 5 and I use it all the time in the kitchen. I wish I had more macho knife-use stories for you, but cutting veggies and meat is primarily what it has been used for.If you like to prep food/ cook food, it has that killer curve to the blade that you can rock thru veggies with, like a traditional german-style chef knife. Still don't like the choil too much, but at least it wont cramp your finger-lots of room. I checkered the handle with a small triagular file, and then roughed up the whole handle with 100 grit sandpaper ( this also hid all the "slips" when I was filing!) haha. Seriously, I love the shape of the blade, and love the boattail spine. It is light in the hand. If I ever hunt pigs with dogs, that is the blade that's gonna go with me. Its easy to get wicked sharp. I couldn't live without my 5 now.

mine lives in the kitchen as i don't get out as much as i'd like right now. super solid knife, and my second favorite in the line up :)

I use mine for meat and vegetable prep when grilling outside. The 5 is a great slicer.

I am still on the fence about the 5... I used to avoid looking at, I found it detracted from the beauty of the rest of the line-up. Now I look at the 5 and it's not as ugly as I first perceived it to be. I'm assuming that I'll eventually like it and buy it however that is definitely further down the road, right now I still have it categorized as "do not like."

Aww c'mon, the 5 is the slender, sexy Asian that's good at cooking in the harem that is the Becker line.

I've put micarta on mine and use it when grilling and when in need for piercing slashes (like fitting drop cloth).

Well, I'm not THAT slender but thanks, I am however married and my wife probably would not like you calling me sexy.

I used to feel the same about the 5. Really, I did. If you look at it though, and especially handle one, you will see that it is a much more capable and handy blade than the 7, in my opinion. The thing isn't even half bad at chopping. Someone else pointed it out to me here, and I have to agree, the knife is really reminiscent of a traditional Japanese tanto knife. The Magnum Camp title I think takes a lot of peoples minds off of its capability as a fighter, as well as a utility knife that I think can easily replace the 7.

I agree with everything said. Except on being better than the 7. I have not used or even handled a 5, so I can not say for sure. I would probably get one if it had no false edge on the spine. That is the only thing holding me back

Why is that?

This is also the way I feel about certain women around last call.
I don't like the 5.

Here it's being compared to a Japanese Tanto.

so, all of you with a 5 you hate, here's my offer: send it to me ;) i'll provide my address for ya ;)

i got plenty of love for the 5

Haven't got one yet. I think it's very cool looking, but I prefer a small Santoku style knife in the kitchen so it probably wouldn't get much use.

So, if the 5 is the "slender Asian that can cook", what does that make the BK-2? The short, heavy, thick woman that likes it rough?
