Anyone use Zerust long term as part of their knife storage system?

My dad gave me a Zerust package that is supposed to protect steel from rusting for a year (or more, depending on which product). Seems like a pretty cool idea, although it will turn paper yellow. Any experience with this stuff, anyone? Can't find any info on whether it affects leather, either. Thinking about using it in the plastic boxes I use to store my knives, obviously. A search only brings up 4 offerings, with no real comment on Zerust itself. Thanks in advance. BFS

Hi! Here is a webpage on how to use Zerust VCI Plastic Film and Bags http://www.zerust.com/how-to-use. Zerust is safe for use with leather. I would worry more about the elements in the leather causing corrosion on the knife. Just make sure the knife is clean and dry and free of finger prints. Place it in the bag and close the bag tightly by folding the edge over. You can even tape it closed. This traps the protective vapors inside the bag and around the knife. The bag also provides a barrier against humidity and and corrosion causing elements in the air. Here are some more videos and information on Zerust http://www.zerust.com/tools. You can also use Zerust VCI Bags to protect weapons and ammunition from corrosion and dirt. http://www.zerust.com/product/ict-weapon-protection-bag
