I've been looking at machetes for awhile and like the looks of the bk6 does anyone have any experience good or bad. There was an article in Tactical Knives just recently and the write up was favorable. Just wondering if anyone else has anything to add

regards,
Scott

The Patrol Machete is hands-down the best machete you can buy. No problems with mine! The full flat grind on that 0.188" blade stock make it a real cutter, biting deep and biting hard. I'm a big fan of those chunky Becker handles, they make you feel like you can use the Patrol Machete all day without your hand getting tired or blistered up. Get one, you certainly won't be disappointed.

Dex, you don't know HOW it pains me to keep agreeing with ya but you hit the nail on the head! My Becker's take a beating down here and don't even break a sweat . . . I wish I could say the same for myself!;) :p ;)

I haven't really pushed mine hard, but it has done a great job on all the brush and scrub I've hacked through using it.

I have worked mine hard! By far the best tool around for clearing brush. It will do more work than I'm ready to do.

I like my Patrol Machete so much I'm going to get another one, that shows how much I like mine.

Whoah, the two handed technique for busting through brush! We'll have to pit you up against a tractor powered Bush Hog to see who can clear more land :D

All this talk of my favorite machete....I figured you guys needed a pic...

Very cool  That is the best picture I've seen! All the web sites I've been to just have a generic picture. I may not be able to wait until Christmas!

LOL
Nope, the 2nd Patrol Machete is gonna be a "spare/loaner/backup" so my relatives (at least the ones I trust not to go thump rocks with it;)) won't always be asking to borrow mine all the time.:D

I use my BK6 a lot clearing small trees. It is like a natural extension of my arm and the basic ad photo of Ethan Becker with his BK6 says it all. Pure satisfaction with the perfect tool for the job.

Enjoy, and thanks for asking,

Richard Boswell

I picked one up this fall. I hacked through a mess of blackberry, sumac and everthing else - so far I've put in about 15 hours - still sharp & no need to even touch up the blade. Oh, and it handles beautifully - it's become my favorite around the place.

There have been some issues of durability with the Patrol Machete as posted here. I have used mine mostly for light limbing of laurel (soft brittle wood). It has worked quite well for my jobs so far, offering good reach & blade velocity due to its length and good penetration due to its blade geometry. I like it. :D
