I've been eyeing this one for awhile. Unfortunately, there are no ATRs in this city for me to play with and figure out if I like. What do you guys think of it?

swapped for a SS ATR a while back and liked so much i eventually got 2 of the ti versions. i do believe that some of the early SS ATRs had probs with the blade detent and would open in your pocket. (mine did i sent back and spydie replaced it) other than the detent issue its a great edc knife, i really like mine. great lock up with the compression lock. good steel on both of them. i highly reccomend them.

I have a ATR SS/PE and I never carry it. First I find it too beautiful to use and second I find the knife not very sturdy(solid) for heavy use( maybe I'm wrong though) And I wish I bought the fully serration version of it.
So the knife sits just looking pretty in my display.

Not sturdy?? I guess maybe I just don't know enough about knives to know what sturdy is, but it seems solid as all get out to me. It has a comfortable grip and I love the hood for opening as well. Mine has the serrated edge and i like it, it only gets used to open the occasional box. I bought it as my civilian was 1/8" too long to legally carry here in Tn and in Jamaica where I am to travel next week, I wanted to have a knife to carry there as well, in case i need to open a box or cut a rope or something.

I carried a SE SS ATR for a couple of months. The thing was great, cut well, sharpened well, had a comfortable handle and a sturdy lock. My only gripe is that the handle seemed a bit slippery to me. I've considered wrapping the handles with tape or sanding them. Other than that, it's a great knife for those big jobs.
