I hope my new Avatar under my username works. Anyone else got a Busse Avatar?

BTW- I have changed my Username from eaisaacs to my name. Just so everyone knows.
:D

Hey Eric how did you change your user name?I e-mailed sparks but he has not returned my e-mail.Maybe you can help,I would really appreciate it:) Thanks.Iwould like to change from bbrown to David Brown

Alright, alright, spill the beans about this new Avatar blade.

How about a bigger pic? My microscope just doesn't seem to do it justice.

I just know, once I see it, I'll have to quote Strabs "Lucky bastid".

Mike,
Actually the Blade is a BA-E with tan Micarta Grips.
Avatar is just the computer term that is used for the Picture under my Username. I don't like that they are so small but you are only allowed to have them 50X50. Sorry for any confusion.
Take a Picture of one of yours and add it to your Username, what better way than to Preach the Gospel Of Busse. ;) :D

Thanks Eric I e-mailed Sparks hopefully he will do it I also changed my avitar once again thank you very much:D I also got some help on the braided d ring ting from someone on the busse site forum:D

Gee Wally, don't I feel like a doof. Oh well, at least I learned something today.

I'm still in the process of evaluating a couple cameras. We are not a Kodak-y family. I'll get something in a month or so.

But then, I'll have to decide which kid to post....

Mike
I look forward to seeing some of your pics once you get a Camera.
BTW, my initial post was worded poorly which I'm sure caused the confusion.

BBrown, thanks I got it to work. Very cool being able to have a Busse by my name! Ron......

Well, I've found that if you start with a huge pic and then resize it, the new, smaller pic looks bad. So, I used a pre-existing and smaller pic of a SH2E to make my avatar. I think I may rotate avatars to display the full Busse line. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to make an avatar that was resized from a huge pic look better? That way, I could more easily make my own avatars.

Andrew,
I don't have any suggestions on how to make the photos look good. I scanned one in and it worked well, but I don't know if I just got lucky. ;)
I do agree with you about rotating Avatars though, I currently have 4 Busse ones that I think I will use :D
I might try to make some more if I get tired of those.

I've seen avatars that were animated. So I suspect the format of the file used as the avatar was a GIF 89A. If that is true, you could make an avatar that would rotate images of various knives for you every few seconds.

To make animated .gif files (gif 89a) you can download a copy of Microsoft GIF Animator from:

Yours in nuclear graphics formatting,
Greg

Van,

Very cool. Do both of those knives have D-guards on them or are those just lanyards? How does one set up an avatar for your profile? I didn't see an option for that feature when I was looking at my user profile.

Many thanks in advance for all info,
greg

Avatar instructions
I'm seeing a bunch of test posts, so I figured I'd help you guys out. Here's some basic instructions for you...

1. Click on the User CP button at top right.
2. Click on the Edit Options link at top center.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on the Change Avatar button at bottom right.
4. Click on the YES radio button. If you don't, your Avatar will not upload!!!!!!!!
5. Click on the browse button and find your Avatar image on your computer. I typically put them on my desktop for quick and easy uploads.
5.1. Make sure your Avatar is no larger than 50x50 pixels.
5.2. Make sure your Avatar is no larger than 10K in size.
6. Click on the submit modifications button. You will be returned to your user control panel.
7. Click on the Edit options link again.

If you can see your Avatar under that section, then you did things correctly. If not, then somehow you aren't following the instructions. Repeat steps 3-7 again.

Here is a pic of my # 3.

And here is my # 9. I just made this kydex sheath for it July 3rd.

This is only the 3rd sheath I have made. I needed sheaths for both of my Cold Steel True Flight Throwers. One turned out OK, the other looks very odd.

This is one of my Busse avatars I have. I also change my avatars a lot so you might see some other ones instead. Change is good.
