Anyone using kydex?

I've been making kydex sheaths a bit more lately and I'm always looking for ways to make them more compact.

I was recently shown an amtac northman with their pocket sheath.

The eyelets look like they're about 1/8" and allow the edges of a pocket sheath to be much closer to the blade.

I've searched high and low for #4 eyelets and I found huge packages(2500) listed on Amazon but no tools and no smaller packages of eyelets.

Has anyone seen these available anywhere?

One of my gripes with a lot of kydex sheaths is how wide they are. 1/4" eyelets and then will trim the kydex 1/4" away from them. Even the pic you show could have another 1/8" taken off all the way around.

For your original question, can't help you with #4 eyelets. I found some one time, but just barely long enough for two layers of .06, and nothing longer.

I agree. Even on larger knives, I try to keep them as compact as possible.

With #8 eyelets it seems like 1/2" or so from the knife is about as tight as I can go.

Just to update, stimpson sells eyelets and setting tools, numbered in 1/32" increments starting at #2.

The sheath in the op uses 3/32", or #3 eyelets.
