Usually use Firefox, but for some things IE is what's needed.

Downloaded this new beta 2 version last night - anyone else using it?

Any thoughts on it?

I had been using for a little while in the new vista release. pretty nice, takes some getting used to wit hthe changed navigation bar. I much prefer the tabs though, just like firefox.

I downloaded the new beta today. Had to uninstall the first beta and then install it. It is pretty good, seems more stable than the first one. However, I am currently using Firefox as my main browser, and Opera's new Beta 9 as my tester. I must say that I am VERY IMPRESSED with the new Opera beta. It is the fastest browser I am using, does RSS Feeds great, uses Mouse Gestures and gets my email too!

I downloaded it out of curiosity and they took the two best things from Firefox- tabs and having a built in search.

I've only been using it for a day or so but somehow I still like Firefox better.

You can tell that the IE is still in beta.

As for Opera, I think the 8.53 is the best release to date; I use it often.

I tried 8.54, and didn't like the results so I uninstalled it.

I'll have to check out version 9, but I am leery of Opera betas. They can be pretty buggy.

I just downloaded IE 7 several days ago. It's been working wonderfully for me and my initial impression is very positive. I have to agree with PerformanceFirst as I've enjoyed tabbed browsing with other browsers, so to see them in IE is a welcome addition and was seamlessly integrated. The built in search is very easy to use and offers much flexibility. They've cleaned up the menu/navigation portion of the window over past versions and it only took me a few minutes to become acclimated.

In my experience, MS has always made features intuitive and easy to use (I think they make products just for me) and it's no different with this new version of IE. The changes have made a good product even better.

I've always been a fan of Microsoft products (Windows, Office, IE, MediaPlayer, etc.). Like many, I use a web browser a lot. Internet Explorer has always delivered. For quick access, having it built into the OS is a stroke of genius. I use that feature often, as I launch to websites about 50% of the time from system folders). The other browsers I regularly use are Firefox & Opera and have found them great products, but always find myself using IE at the end of the day. I have a couple other browsers to "play" with, but don't use them regularly.

I read today that Microsoft has decided to offer FREE tech support (!) to anyone testing IE 7 as an inducement for people to try the new browser.

Free tech support is available at 866-876-4926.

Amazing.

I tried it and liked the new nav bar a lot. But for some reason it was blurry in my monitor so I went back to IE5.

I've gone back (quickly) to Firefox & Opera as my browsers.

IE7 is clearly better than 6, but it's bugged on me a couple of times now.

So I'll wait until the final release version before making up my mind about it.

One feature I just discovered is that it will recognize and open more than one homepage (at the same time). Since I have two homepages that I like a lot, this is very cool.

You're referring to the tabs?

Each "homepage" opens up in separate tabs. I have a customized Google & MSN homepages, taylored specifically with content just for me. :) Because of this feature in IE7, I don't have to go into bookmarks or type the URL into the address bar...they both just open.
