Anyone using the Spyderench?

I have carried mine as a primary multi-tool, but I was never quite happy with it in that role. I do carry it in my vest pocket as a backup.

The SpydeRench offers an ingenious combination of functions and all of them work quite well. I particularly like the crescent wrench and the one-handed opening knife. The main downside is that a lot of the functions take a bit more work to get at than on most multi-tools. If you're in a hurry that can be annoying. I also found that the tool selection was not ideal for my most common needs, but that will vary greatly by the individual.

Overall I think the SpydeRench is an excellent design if its tool selection matches your daily needs. It is well-made and massively tough.

I have used one, interesting tool, not a replacement for a leatherman, but fills a different role. I sent it out on a pass around years ago, generally positive comments.

Is there a good wrench-inclusive multitool that might substitute for it? I went seeking a smaller screwdriver ish replacement for my SAK Cybertool, but when I ran across a multitool with a full sized wrench, I about died. There are a couple for sell on ebay that I'm just dying to buy. So expensive though! I think the minigrip and spyderfly are going to have to wait until I get one of these babies. I may never let it go.

Wearing one on the belt right now, of course back up to a LM wave.
They are a good combo. what ever the LM can't do (mostly odd screw bits and harder cutting i wouldn't ask it too) the spyderench steps in.

I've seen your posts about wanting one, and i'm not 100% sure i am going to keep mine, if it goes you'll be the first to know.

But as a stand alone tool I wouldn't reach for it first.

spyderench seems to have its jobs its designated for where my LM wants to adapt to problems.

I would definitely agree with you. However, personally, I really only use my multi for the screwdriver. If I could have a wrench and maybe pliars, I'd use those too....but man, a wrench would be a godsend. Anddd it'd be my first spyderco. I don't have really any need for all the other stuff in multitools. I mean, I enjoy having it there, but my cybertool's only (and I do mean only) use is for its good screwdriver. When I carry it, I carry another folder. With a REAL blade like a spyderco on there, I might make an exception.

If he doesn't want it, let me know, I'll take it.
