I Just received mine and haven’t used it yet. I would like to change my profile for my knives at 15 degrees but I don’t want to ruin a $200-dollar knife. Like advice please.

It is very easy to use, but best to start with the kitchen knives and get the feel for it. Stones can use a little breaking in anyway.
Also be wary of steel dust on the vice surface which could create scratches on your nice blade finish-clean the vice and/or tape the blade. Better safe then sorry.

I bought one a little while ago. I'm very impressed with it so far.

As noted above, practice on some cheap knives to get used to the system and break in the stones. Go to the hardware store and buy a couple of $10 knives, and work with them. The first knife I sharpened was a freebie I got from an outdoor store with an other. It was very dull, and made of some unknown steel. The Wicked Edge put a really sharp edge on it.

Be careful with your setup, and take your time. Let the stones do the work with light pressure. No need to push hard against the blade. With some practice, it is pretty easy to get a very sharp, mirror like bevel.

And definitely do tape the spine of the blade to prevent scratches.

Also, use a marker on the edge to be sure you are sharpening at the right angle. If your not familiar with what I’m talking about watch a few videos on YouTube and you’ll see. Good luck!
