In the spirit of RWS's post, I am offering an unfinished practice plate to anyone who wants it.

It is a bit discolored, since the pic, and I can't take the time to finish it, but the first e-mail saying "I want it" will get it shipped to them, nc.

It was part of a mass practice session on an engraving forum I frequent, but other things have demanded my time, and I got out of it what I needed to.

Just want to give back a bit to this great community.

Take care,

Tom

PS the pic is much larger than life size. The plate maybe around 2"X2" or so

that is really neat!

i wont find any use to it.

someone grab it! :)

thanks for sharing~

Very close!

Most western scroll decoration is derived from the Acanthus leaf and related forms. This is a design by Steve Lindsay, who put it on his forum for the forum members to try together. He demoed it as we went along.

I doodled a bit more tonight, as i am trying out another tool.

Take care,

Tom

Though the plate has been claimed, I've gotta say, that engraving looks neat. It's the sort of thing more of us knifely types might like to learn I imagine... not sure were one could get started in my area though.
