I picked up a seax a few weeks ago and while it is a beautiful knife, it is just not for me. I like curvy things. It is a horn handled seax, by Sher. Unused.

Stuff I'm looking for (all HI) trades don't have to be even.
21" Chitlangi
22" GRS
14" New model
Malla
Cherokee Rose
YCS :)
Falcata :D
Other HI stuff

Let me know what you have for trade. I'm always interested in another khukuri :)

MBE, post the specs on the Seax and I might, notice I said might, trade you a Cherokee Rose.;)
I need to sleep on it as well, maybe twice, but I am at least interested.:D

(Throw in a large Sebenza and I will send my best one tomorrow, oops tomorrow's Sunday, but you get the idea.:D
Just TZN! :p )

Serious about the Rose though. If I decide I will let you know here and then we can take it to e-mail as I see yours is listed.

The seax is 14" long overall, 1 5/8" wide, 5/32" thick (a hair over 1/4" thick). It weighs 18 oz.
It has the original sheath.

Thanks MBE.
I didn't weigh the Rose, but it's 19 3/8" oal with a 12" blade and of course a 7 3/8" handle. A lot of thought went into the handle and was the major holdup on the Rose as I wanted to get it just right. Held up close to the guard the blade is only slightly weighty. Held towards the back the blade becomes very heavy and this is the way you would hold it for chopping.
The handle is made to rotate in your hand so as to not generate blisters.
It's a helluva knife, size wise, when compared to the Seax ainnit?;) :D

Anyone that has a Seax please feel free to jump in with blade, handle lengths, or both. I've noticed some kukris to be different in lengths when seperate lengths are compared to overall. It doesn't make sense, but hey Nepal Ho!!!! ;)

of the 8 i handled, they were all within 13.75 and 14.1" OAL. Sher made all of them and they are are quite similar, with slight variances in handle shaping, and blade/handle angle varies by only a few degrees.

I know Brendan is looking for a trade, since his tarwar is too big, but the price to fly it back across the atlantic is rough.

Looks like Yvsa and I have a trade worked out, but I'll leave that up for him to confirm. :)

Confirmed!!!! I think we're both excited over this trade. We both feel good about it and that's the bottom line IMO.:D
