Anyone watch the fight?

Was the Mayweather victory what you guys expected? Most people I know were for McGregor. I've always liked boxing better than MMA though. So I liked how it turned out.

I was surprised how well McGregor did. Boxing and mma are two different sports. It's no surprise that a boxer will beat a mma fighter in boxing as a mma fighter will beat a boxer in mma. The fact that McGregor was even competitive shows his athleticism and mayweather's cautious style. As for personalities... i can't stand either of them. I don't regret watching it (splitting cost with friends).

Nope. I knew it wouldn't end the way I wanted it to. I had hoped they'd both connect early in round one and knock each other out cold. :p

I told my buddy at work that it would go 9 Rounds with Mayweather the victor. Mayweather's "system" of hanging back the first few Rounds before progressively getting more involved as his opponent wears down has worked for him for the past decade+. A more offensive-minded boxer would have put McGregor on the mat in the first couple of Rounds. McGregor's hands and feet are too slow for top level boxing. I cannot stand either of them. I hate defensive boxing, I don't care for MMA at all, and both characters outside of the Ring have proven to be garbage human beings. But, they just made like, $500MM so they're doing something that I can't, obviously.

I'm not really a big sports fan, the only time I've watched sports is when my kids or grandkids played.

I followed along but couldn't watch, I expected Mayweather to win (just "boxer wins boxing match" logic) but seems like McGregor held his own and did well though.

I didn't watch it, I won't contribute a cent to Mayweather. But the fight went exactly as I predicted. McGregor is hard as a coffin nail and would kill Mayweather in any other unarmed combat sport (be it MMA, wrestling, kick boxing, ju jitsu, in the ally behind the 7/11, etc), but nobody at the highest level of boxing has been able to "hit" Mayweather and Connor ain't that fast.

I saw it as a circus and an obvious grab for money, but I was morbidly curious enough to check the Internet for the result as soon as my wife's alarm went off at 6am.

I'm still crying in my Cheerio-s.
you can follow my downfall in the community center forums...

Actually, I feel like Rocky when Micky died... :( Back to my blanket fort now.

I monitored the Twitter feed and watched the replay. Before the fight, some predicted Mayweather will win, some said McGregor. Being a huge MMA fan, I rooted for Connor. But inside that boxing match, Mayweather dominated in his strategy. I was surprised that McGregor lost steam in the later rounds. I guess he's more used to 5-round fights.

In the end, both of them won with the multimillions dollars they raked in. It wasn't really a fight, but a money game that both won.

I'm beginning to believe that the money was ALL the fight was for.
Floyd has his "rep".
Connor has his "pat on the back", and almost unlimited pay day-s for UFC INC! (whomever they are)

It's the sheep like me that fell for this load.
Like when Chyna married Eddie Guerrero... (WWF) I was pissed they didn't invite me because I believed it was real. (not really)

So a few days of crying, eating Cheerio-s, and wondering WHY...
I tore down the fort.
I built a tinfoil "hat" for my house, and my PC is now hardwired to this forum. No more being suckered for me!
I'm a new man now, and all that matters is .... hell, I can't think of a single thing.

Time for a new Blanket Fort!!! YEAAAAY! :D
