I have been watching revolution and they really use a lot of knives and swords in this show anyone else been checking it out? mainly interested in what knives anyone may have spotted not on opinions of the show itself.

Didn't notice any knives I was familiar with. Gave up on the show after about 4 episodes. Girl that played Charlie was pretty hot though.

The swords on the show look goofy. It kinda threw me off watching the show. Mark 1 trench knife handles with sword blades.

Nonsense premise. Electricity stopped working? What?!? What about the electro-chemical reactions in our bodies that keep us alive? What happened to those? More you think about it, the less sense it makes. I can't get past the premise.

And it needs some zombies.

Man-made electricity, such as batteries, generators, power plants, etc., not netural electro-chemical reactions which would be too weak to power a car/tank/radio/etc.

Basically the world acts like a giant EMP wiped out all electrical objects, but didn't actually damage them. Some unknown power source in a tiny pendant can power things back up (such as a lighthouse generator) for a brief few seconds, and these may be the key to "turn the power back on."

Too much is glossed over such as:
  • why folks can't grab some magnets, copper wire, and make a generator to power a few light bulbs for the home
  • why haven't folks brought back steam power, yet the bad guys have a fully functional steam train...
  • wind powered electricity? Hello?? Talk about the perfect opportunity to get that going. The materials are there already so you would not have needed to manufacture it.
  • Muskets are the gun of the day, yet even before we had electricity we had repeating rifles and reloadable cartridges, so why not now (granted in smaller quantities)?

Yeah, the premise is ridiculous. Still some nicely choreographed sword fight scenes, and it's definitely a telling statement on why the 2A is so important.

And it needs some zombies.
AMEN!

Strong agree on all your bullets! I can't watch that show for a couple minutes without asking myself exactly those questions!

I guess I wondered if electricity stopped...wouldn't that neutral electro-chemical stuff stop too? Or is it just "man-made" electricity that has somehow stopped?

Gah! Thinking about silly show too much! Hurting brain! Must stop!

The "scientific" premise of the show would appear to require a global, satellite transmitted electrical dampening field, one fictionally "signatured" to artificial electrical fields. Premise is stupid.

The necklace would then be a neutralizer.

All of the swordplay is dumb. As no one wears effective armor, why are people making or using such slow blades as they depict? 1) the combat skills of the actors are low. 2) cheaper props.

Final complaint. The self contained brass cartridge predates electrical factories. Why treat the tech of keeping modern-ish firearms running as some sort of moon shot effort? The furthest firearms regression should be to the pre-semiautomatic era to account for inconsistent ammo. Therefore the flintlocks appearing are ridiculous.
