Looks to be every bit as powerful as Band of Brothers..
ive been watching. i haven't enjoyed it nearly as much as band of brothers.
but its still good, not great, imo.
Eh... Not quite IMO
Agreed. I just don't think it has the depth or same feel. Its good... don't get me wrong... but not as good. Maybe its the stage... just another Island. I don't feel like they developed enough characters like B.O.B. did. You knew the whole gang... I can still remember Muck, Pencala, Garnier, Winters, Malarkey, Lipton... Ummmm... "Shifty", Buck Compton... and that's off the top of my head.
We're what, 7 episodes in now and I feel like other than the Australia episode, we've seen the same thing. Again though, its much better than half the other crap out there.
it feels disjointed to me. from a historical standpoint, they fought memorable battles and were as heroic as the paratroopers.
but from a storytelling standpoint, it is far less engaging. band of brothers first attached you to the characters, then moved forward. the men remained together, in the same company, from basic until the end, whether through death or until v.e. day.
i believe this may be in large part to the original story teller, stephen ambrose.
damn you guys -its on at the same time as some glampire show my mrs watches . It is entitled "vampire diaries" it should be called "village of the idiots" -i hate it because they just aren't scary -a vampire should be a spooky mean old guy that lives in a castle not a centrefold male model out of a teenage girls mag-they're hundreds of years old and they still haven't got it worked out -how stupid can you get??
