I am cleaning her up and so far, the wheel adaptor and magnetic chuck are MIA.
I assume that there are sizes and types of wheels that are normally used by bladesmiths. It looks like I need to know the size of my wheel before I can know enough to decide on the wheel adaptor.
I also assume that this 612 takes the common US type made machines of that era use?
Since we are here, do I want a fine or standard pole chuck?

I have a 612. I use Sopko 00200, LH adapter 200-1. Seven inch wheel. I make folders, and use a fine pole electromagnetic chuck, I also purchased a fine pole from Shars as a backup.

As I get her apart for cleaning, I see what appears to be a plunger on the underside of the slide table. I would rather remove the slide to clean and inspect. I can not get the "telescoping pin" to depress at all; However, it is very hard to get leverage with the reachers I have used thus far. Does it unscrew? I felt no corners. That pin clearly engages with the stop on the bottom axis trolly thingy. ( Forgive me )
Do I need a flood coolant set up or for blade sized pieces, is it better to take cooling periods between passes and run dry. I hear misting is filthy.

You should be able to move the table right, disconnect the cable from the eyebolt, then remove the cable from around the spool on the left side. It should lift off…
Don’t know if you’ve found any manuals, but here’s a couple
Check out the longitudinal feed diagrams.
Also the Harig support fellow is Jim Seyller. Call Jim at 847 683-0476. Jim has 40+ years of expenience with Harig grinders and is very helpful in all aspects, usage, maintenance and repair. (JDS Technical Support). Good dang fellow.
I grind wet. I made a splash guard out of Lexan, and got a killer deal on a Greymills flood coolant pump/tank on Ebay. There’s also a cold air gun that is being used that might interest you instead of flood coolant. Someone with experience may chime in on that.

There is no cable anywhere that I can see. It did come with two big weights with eyelets. Never tried pulling up on it.

I could be wrong here, but I believe Harig did manufacture grinders w/o cable driven table, never seen one tho. Call Jim, have your serial number ready for him.
