Copying my question from the Community Center forum --Eisman suggested that there were a number of UK guys here.

Anything knife/axe/military related in Oxford, England? Going to be there for a couple weeks. Looks like there's a castle but it sounds empty. Also going to Blenheim Palace and the Oxford Museums (Natural History, Pitt Rivers, Science, Art and Archaeology).

Anything else?

When I visited Oxford some years back, I was amazed at the large number of fairly ornate vintage and antique corkscrews to be found in the shops. At the time I reckoned that these were pawned off by generations of students in the various colleges. This was about as near as I came to finding anything related to cutlery.

The Ashmolean Museum.

Go to the Tank Museum in Bovington Dorset, it's only a couple of hours away from Oxford by train so you can do a day trip there no problem. Collection of military vehicles etc.

Ah, I'd love to go but that would be an all-day thing. Looks like the train is 3 hours each way. This is partly business so I don't have that much time. But excellent recommendation!

Some cool stuff there, love that boarding axe  Hope you enjoyed your visit
