Anything special about the Mora 2000 vs. older models?

I am very pleased with my wood handled full tang laminated mora - Is the 2000 full tang? why buy one?
 
Nothing special about the 2000, other than the ergonomics of the plastic grip.

No, the plastic Mora knives aren't full-tang, but some are more than others. The Mora 2000 is actually less than half-tang.

There was an old forum topic with an x-ray showing some of the variations. A Google search should kick up that photo.
 
Thanks for posting that link, a better photo than I found.

I was mistaken with regards to the 2000's tang; the photo I found didn't have labels and I was matching up the knife models incorrectly.
 
The 2000 has a blade shaped differently than any other Mora. It is deeper from spine to edge, and the blade is ground differently. The handle is a softer plastic material, not hard plastic like most.

I just wish they made it in a carbon steel version....
