I received this as part of a passaround the details and post shennanigans are HERE
The passaround Anza 705 is a real workhorse. It amazes me what can be made from industrial files
In addition to doing succulent food cutting and boning, my recipes available upon request,
I used it to cut carpet, bush trimmings ..maybe they're called plants? ya know with flowers and vines and stuff. The blade is longer than I prefer in a carry. It IS a great kitchen knife tho. I also used it at work to cut rubber gasket material and it sliced thru the work with no sweat.
THE DETAIL IS REALLY UNDERSTATED. CHECK OUT THE SYMMETRY OF THE GRIND AND FILE LINES.
It is beautifully done!!
How do they do that? Must be experience or a very steady eye. Or maybe a jig holds it? The attention to detail is marvelous with the file lines filled in at the tang so it contrasts with the butt ugly scales.
Yes the handle is ugly but after a lot of thought I'll get one of the same size and with the same handle material. It is non skid. and for my use of it in the kitchen it's perfect. I'll be shipping it off coated in virgin olive oil to maintain the mediterranean look.
The Anza I bought is a palm knife and it is a lovely size for edc or packing around. The file lines are more slight due to the size of the file it's made from.
Did I say I like the file lines on the 705?
Ya sure Ya don't want a peek at the palm? Tom
ps I mustard patina'd my palm Anza and I really like the look.
