I've posted before about them and got about one reply. Does no one like these knives? I've been carryin one for about 6 months or more and I absolutely love it, but it was never recommended. Thoughts? It's great for fixed blade EDC IMO. I'd like to hear everyone's opinion, and I haven't been apart of discussions on here for quite sometime. I've cut back my knife consumption to nicht since I found the combo of the Anza F4 and an SAK Spartan. I really like the combo and it fits my needs perfectly. I own BMs and the like but for some reason this combo works great. However, no one seems to mention them. Thanks in advance.

I've seen them at gun shows and in distributors catalogs. Never owned one, they look neat though. Common steel?

They're not really my style, but they look like good work knives at a very affordable price.
Judging from the attention they receive on the forums, they do seem to be more popular in Germany than in the US.

Tool steel e.g. old files. 1/4" thick and TOUGH. They aren't super hard from what I understand from talkin' the owner of Anza, but they hold an edge REALLY well. Rust is an issue because it's tool steel and doesn't have a coating. I've tried to see how long I could make myself go without sharpening it and I'm up to two weeks and it'll still take the hair off my arms. The fit and finish IMO is superb and they take one crazy sharp edge. I'd give em a shot if I were y'all they are WAY hard to beat for the price. Jeremy Tucker is who I got mine from on Ebay. Give him a shout I'm sure he has plenty.

QS that's really interesting. I didn't think they would be but that's awesome! Especially since Solingen is renowned for their craftsmanship.

but the upswept blade didn't suit me. Good little knife, though. I never pushed the mini skinner but I hear they're tough as nails. I don't know why there isn't more buzz about them. I guess they not high tech and sexy enough.

They got alot of attention a few years ago. We even had some passarounds. A search should bring up quite a bit.

On the website and stuff, they look flat out ungainly.

In person, once you actually see some that you like, they are a smokin' good deal. I have two, and like them very much!

They are sort of an undercover cool thing!

My Grandmother bought me, my bro and cousin each a 3 inch bladed anza and it has been a pretty good lil knife. It does take a wicked edge and seems to hold it ok, its not my edc. kinda just sits in the back of my car when I need it(its oiled) along with my old Kabar and swisstool. It pops out when I forget to bring a small fixed blade somewhere.

I've not yet handled one, just pictures. I always liked the designs, but I was concerned about the coarse texture of the blade where the file ridges used to be. I thought it might me a difficult knife to keep clean - a concern in use with foods. What has your experience been regarding this?
If it's not a problem, I will move them up on my list.

the little fixed blade I have has the ridges but they are very small and I never had a problem getting stuff out of them they usually clean right out. No experience with the bigger ones though.

I think I might be one of the only ones that responded. I like mine (3" blade) "we" might be a little late to the party, but mine will take a very sharp edge and it has a "wow man, that thing is made out of a file or something" factor.;) I love when someone says that:D It's a little knife that I get a lot of pleasure from owning. (I'm with you man):)

I was involved in one of DaveH's passarounds with a Bodington. I thought it was a great knife. It was sharper than a lot of knives I've played with and when it was dull, I put a pretty fair edge on it. I know if I'd worked at it, I could have gotten it real sharp! I intend on getting one but I just never got around to buying one. I guess I need to get my butt in gear.

I like the fact that they will build a knife to your specs and not charge an arm/leg for it.

Theres a litle tiny fixed blade that they have that I like alot. It has a deep finger groove.

I've learned from alot of knifemakers that even though file teeth look pretty cool on a knife, they cause stress risers, and are likely to brek along one of the ridges. I'm assuming that the file teeth interrupt with slicing as well.

Did someone say Anza?

I'm confident that most forum regulars are familiar with Anza knives due to past discussion, review, and photo topics. I can't explain why Anza isn't more popular when it comes to actual ownership.

It's my understanding that Anza will grind off the file ridges by request.

I have a small 3" FB Anza that resides in my truck. It's not the prettiest knife, but it works just fine as a dependable beater knife.

I own an Anza filet knife and I like it a lot. For a filet knife it's very tough. Beautiful too. Some time or other I will probably buy a midsize Anza bowie. I just wish they would offer kydex sheaths. Nothing wrong with their leather sheaths though. I simply prefer kydex.

I like the ANZA's, especially for work knives. They are kinda undercover cool  ...as Kohai999 dubbed them. :)

One for personal carry...

One (with well earned patina) for utility slicing in the kitchen...

And, one wallhanger...

I've heard of Anza, and seen some on eBay, but I have not seen or handled any personally. There are a lot of knife brands out there that are decent, but well out of the main stream. If I saw an Anza that caught my eye, I'd certainly consider picking it up.

Perhaps Anza aren't 'tactical looking' enough. I'm not saying that only tactical knives are popular, they just seem to have been the flavor of the day for quite some time.

I'll start paying more attention to Anza, just to see what's out there.
