Anza Borrego Desert Hike

Last weekend I spent a couple of days trying to capture what Anza Borrego is all about. I hiked, took pictures, got lost looking for trails, tried out some new gear, and came across some nice looking lizards. The Desert’s beauty is subtle but spring is visually the best time to visit. Anyone else have any experiences in Anza Borrego? Hope you like the pictures.

Great pics Rueben! That lovely lady is still around eh. You are a luck dog!

Wow! the desert is really beautiful...been to Nevada's desert. it's a shock for a Georgia Boy...love it!

Cool pics R.!! I've spent quite a bit of time in Anza. My brother lives there for now but will be moving up here soon...

Was out there last October, much fun for a guy living in Hawaii. Nice to dry out. The short trail back to the oasis is a hoot, very pretty. Lot's of fun to be had playing on the rocks etc. The desert proper is very peaceful.

Very cool - I like the palm oasis. Never saw anything like that before.

Have spent a bunch of time out there, love it. I see the cactus is still blooming, anything else? Great pics by the way.

Very cool pics. I've lived in San Diego for 20 years and only recently discovered how interesting Anza Borrego is. I plan on spending much more time wandering with the lizards.

Cool pics. I used to spend a ton of time in that desert around Salton Sea and in the Chocolate mountains. Very cool(extremely hot) area.

Them's my old stomping grounds, but since I moved to LA, it's been harder to get out that way. Gorgeous pics! Many thanks for posting them.

I love the place. We've been going there in our JEEP since 1981. Lots of trails, a large variety of vegitation due to the diverse terrain.
I'd recommend a stop at their visitors center for anyone who has never been there before.

I could ramble all day about the place.

If you get the chance, check it out. It is a great place to spend time.:D

Spent winter field camp there in '83. Stayed at the main campground by Borrego Springs and went to Split Mountain to practice mapping. Seems like just yesterday.
