Anyone who has handled or owns an Anza folder I would like to hear comments. Their fixed blade knives are well known but I have not seen anything on the folders.

Nope, haven't see one and I can't remember if I have seen a folder blade made from a file with some of the file remnants left on the flats. I probably have...just don't remember if I have. So, being that Google is our friend, I found their website(again) and found this image hosted there:

Anza Friction Folder(for slicing and cutting, not stabbing or poking) :)

Do knives made from files have somewhat of a folksy coolness about them or is it just me.

You know what though, the concept is kinda cool and I can see this as a slip joint with a standard clip or drop point blade. The file part would come in handy for....uhhhhh...filing things. :)

I like the idea of it, and there's a certain attraction for me to Anzas, but I can't get over how bad the handle looks. It looks like it was carved out of a 2x4 and poorly finished. I can get a lot more for my 90 dollars.

I agree that the wood looks bad. At least I know why Anza uses that ugly plastic impregnated wood on most of their fixed blades - it incredibly looks better than this example.

In general I've always thought their knives were kinda cool, but also always thought Anza wanted way too much money for a broken file stuck into a piece of ugly wood...

I own an anza fixed blade and I love it. However I looked into buying more, but those dang ugly wood handles are a major turnoff for me. I have some stag handles that looked nice.
