Who knows more about anza knives?
I know they anneal the file than grind and polisch them.
What sort of steel do these files have?
W1, W2, have even red 1095 and A2 somewhere?
What RC do these knives have, are they hard to sharpen, thoughness, edge retention?
I know they are are hollow grind, how is the edge?

I like the shape of these knives and would like to try some, but any info is welcome.
I don't know many companies that make knives from files

I had one that rusted almost immediately and I live in a dry climate. IMO, the blades are way too short for any serious work. I just flat out don't like em.

i have one, its about 4inch blade with half the top side sharpened. i like it pretty well. dont know the steel. made from old files as you know. seems pretty strong but is also pretty thick. will rust/ patina. that guy just needs to oil his knives. i like his deep finger choils and natural handles. lent it to my buddy who is a pipe fitter and he loved it because it still had some file checkering on it. did two jobs in one.

My first ANZA I purchased in 03, is sharp as ever and rust free, just like any high carbon steel, you oil them no problem
They are easy to sharpen, and a great all purpose knife.
I now have 6 different models, from Tactical to a little back up knife.

I likes them lots

a great source to purchase them is http://www.auctiva.com/stores/viewstore.aspx?id=440336

I have a regular bastard II, i'ts sharp as hell and built very solid (thick)
the craftsmanship is very high, it's really well biuld for what I paid (30€), sheath is leather and a work of art, finely made and solid.

I can only suggest their knives, going to buy more for sure
steel on mine seems to be 1095 carbon
cheers!

I really like them. Very sturdy and durable, inexpensive, great service and communication, and can be customized to your wishes. They will even grind off the file grooves if you ask.

Here is my first custom knife ever, made by Anza to my specifications:

And here is a set of three they made for me - gave one to each brother and kept one for myself:

Those are nice looking knives,I too have had charlie make 3 different models for me. They are great knives,What I like about them is,that I'm not afraid to use them, scratch's etc. just give them more personality :)

I should be getting my first one this week. When I ordered it Charlie sent me an email with the shipping date. He then sent a confirmation email telling me again what the shipping date is going to be. It shipped on Friday so I should get it some time this week. So far I have been really impressed with their communication.
