Just came back from the local gun show, and bought an ANZA NK for $30, I'd appreciate if anyone can tell me what they think of these knives.

They look like decent users. When I first "discovered" them, I did some research. From what I gather, they're good enough knives, but they rust easily and they have cheap sheaths. I've only seen them in person once. They are very thick and stout looking. You're going to do a complete test, right? ;)

I'd buy one right not, but I only need so many fixed blades (have two already with another on order).

Yea Cris, actually I think I will review it, seems like a good work blade.
I think I'll get a Kydex sheath for it, I wasn't to crazy about the leather either.

More to follow.

I had a medium a few years ago, definitely a good utility blade, it does rust easily. On mine the edge was very steep (around 40 degrees) and didn't slice well, I rebevelled it down to 30 and that helped quite a bit.

I believe these are made from old files that have been annealed, reground and retempered. That's how Buck got its start, I believe. Anza knives are good cutters and the steel is excellent. I know a few trappers who prize them for their edge holding.

I had one years ago and it was an excellent using blade which held a good edge and was easily re-sharpened. BTW, the rust thing is no big deal to me, you just have to keep it oiled or waxed when you store it.
