I picked up an LB 11 Apollo 112 0th anniversary Commemorative yesterday. It is a scrimshaw and has an inscription on one side of the handle and a picture of the apollo landing craft on the other as well as an inscription on the blade. The knife is new, has the papers, sheath and box that looks like it did when it left the factory. The seller was asking 95.00 for it but wanted to move some stock and sold it to me for $50.00. I know price fluctuates and is subjective but Codger or anyone else, do you have any idea what this knife is worth? It is a Schrade + with nickel bolsters.

as has oft been said here all depends on what the buyer is willing to pay. prices are so subjective. if the knife came with all the bling $50 is a really good price. just the knife alone and the history it represents $50 is still pretty good. i have seen LB 7's go for more and some for less. one never knows. by the way is it a four pin or a three pin knife? and does it have a serial number on it.

I sold a Complete set with correct bling including original Schrade Flyer <Advertisement> only last week for Au$110 plus postage.....US and Aussie Dollar are currently in parity..so the same money...Nice set.....Sold Ebay Auction Item No 300523855646 if you're interested in looking...Hoo Roo

If it is it would be a forgery instead of a fake. Same diference I guess. See what you think Codger. It came in a brown box with the script The Eagle has Landed commemorative Edition. Bottom right has Scrade Cutlery. It has a Back suede sheath depicting the moon with the Apollo 11 circling it. The knife and sheath are resting in a red velvet holder with clear plastic over it with the same script as the box . Under the vevet holder is a booklet describing the apollo mission and on the back of the booklet is PAIII Commemorative Scrimshaw, 6000 piece limited edition. .There is a registation cerificate and a how to care for your knife booklet and where to send for service:Ellenville NY. The Left of the blade has Limited Editon That's one small step for man One giant leap for mankind. The left side of the handle has 20th Anniversary Appollo 11 Landing on The Moon July 30,1969. The tang stamp has Scrade + USA LTD

Surviving my man, surviving. And please forgive me for poking fun at your spelling. These days I have to get my fun wherever I can find it.

Speaking of which, have you seen what decent smatchetts are going for these days? I thought it was bad to pay three or four hundred!

Oh, and congratulations on a really nice addition to your collection! Do you remember where you were on July 20th, 1969? I was in a canoe in the middle of the Tennessee River near Moccasin Bend, close to Chattanooga. A fellow paddler had a transistor radio and we all heard the news of the landing.
