Chang,

Sorry about any misunderstanding about your friend and his tire-stabbing endeavors.

Your wording was a bit ambiguous so I thought the very worst. Heck, I've had my car broken into so many times this year that I'm a bit sensitive.

Note: at no time was I accusing you of participating directly in the vandalism.

I was trying to make sure you don't get yourself involved with any dubious activities and that you stay on "the straight and narrow" road.

Just looking out for a fellow knife knut!

WOW Canadians are victims of crime STILL? I thought the gun-control fixed all that!!
Being a Kalifornian I feel for you Kanadians...

Take Care
Trace.

I thing Chang made a good point in the other thread. When there are misunderstandings like this, an email might quickly clear things up--without inciting a riot.

It's just too easy to misinterpret things on the net.

Big cities have big problems everywhere in the world.
However only in Canada can the cowardly criminal act of one person cause so much trouble for law abidding people, SUCH a pitty!!!
I live in a small town 45,000 + and its time to look at moving out to the country.
Forge, hammer, anvil, want a power hammer. To much noise for the neibours.
Also better view and a longer, clearer feild of fire on fleeing criminal types.

Trace,

I heard stats once from the NRA which stated that Canada and England, two countries with tough gun laws, have much higher violent crime rates than the United States. (Just going on memory here from a couple of years ago.)

In that other locked thread, I would have mentioned that I once knew a guy who worked for a junkyard...when they wanted rims free of the old worn-out tires, they'd cut the tires off rather than go buy the special tool to do it. They'd start the cut in the sidewall with a knife, then cut all the way across the tread with a jigsaw with a special blade or sometimes a small rotary saw with a carbide grit blade, then snap the beads with a bolt cutter.

That's what *I* thought Chang's buddy might be up to...

Been away a couple days, had to figure this one out. Glad this is being handled well. In my dealings with the Comrade, he has restored my faith in teenagers in general.
