I was thinking about this whole subject while doing my ironing (well, I can't very well play with my knives -- I'll either burn or cut myself). Shouldn't this sort of thing be in Knife Reviews, rather than GB&U? You know, something along the lines of (Disclaimer -- the following is meant solely for the entertainment of our BladeForums audience. Any similarity to actual knifemakers or any BF member other than myself is purely coincidental):
Not only does the fit and finish of Mr. Svirsky's knives betray his utter lack of mechanical aptitude, his work demonstrates a complete lack of artistic vision; Mr. Svirsky's designs are clearly derivative of the early Ginsu steak knives.
In other words, let's lighten up folks. Artistry is rarely original; it builds upon past efforts, successful or otherwise. Would you want a world where there was only one Expressionist painter?
