Upon contemplation, of my posts this week , I wish to offer my unreserved & sincere apologis to you JP regarding my uncalled for and negative mud slinging.I have to admit what you or anyone else does to kukris is none of my business in the first place, & I know of your love for them. & I quite understand , if you choose to disregarde my apology.

I am actualy rather embaresed at my behavour.

I have no relevant excuse or mitygation other than bieng diagnosed as artheritic this week{& apparently have been for several years} & having spent the week eating antiinflamatory painkillers, feeling sorry for myself & my presumably rapidly deteryating futre.
But thats my problem, due to an ill spent youth, no one elses.

I notice Once I was in a hole I kept digging & taking on all comers with reckless abandon, & even a bizzare enjoyment {an old habbit ,I guess,}

Because of this ,I think I better have some time out, so I wont post for 6 months on HI forum.I have found it all rather addictive.

Any way enjoy your kukris all!

To rieterate once again JP I am sorry for my attitude towards you this week, after all if you had not spoken so enthusiasticly & knowledgably of kukris to me long ago, I may have just stoped at 4 or 5 of them, that I had already come across. And At least you pioneered putting what information you had available to you at the time up on the internet as well.

no one else has taken the time or made the effort to do it.

seems to me...

that if a good friend has a problem, THAT is the time he should spend with his other friends....don't you think?

Dunno, nor do I want to know what you and JP went through...but it sounds like that is over. So now you have a problem...don't leave, silly goose.

Somebody once defined "friends" as people who will put up with your sh1t if you put up with theirs.

Works for me.

This is not a bad place for damaged folks. Nuturing, even if they occasionally lapse into a bunker mentality.

Stick around.

Kis is a wise man and speaks true words Jake. Stick around.

If you want to talk about arthritis email me. I was diagnosed with ... The Systemic Adult Onset of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, more commonly known as Stills Disease... in 1998. Right now I am In Remission and have been for a tad over 6 months and not taking any meds for it, no more Saturday night injections with a chemo drug so no more really sick Sundays, at least for a while and I'll take anything I can get!!!!

Yes, stick around. Everyone comes out the better when you do that.
Otherwise, if you make a mistake, are caught being human; you're supposed to remove yourself from a society that presumably has no use for people who make mistakes? What kind of society, or Cantina, would that be?

You should have been here a few years ago. Ed Fowler did a piece for Blade magazine in which he claimed to found an original knife from the Lewis and Clark expedition (very very very rare). He then went on to decribe in brutal detail how tested the knife until he totally destroyed it. We almost lynched him here on the Bladeforums (it is a good thing we didn't have Whine and Cheese back then); before, we realized that the article had been intended as an April Fools joke.

OK Spiral?

In the space of a little over 2 hours, folks from the Cantina with a combined total of over 33,000 posts have told you to stick around. Even if there isn't great wisdom somewhere in there, there's a helluva lot of experience in those posts. :D

Tell us about your affliction(s), and how you are feeling vulnerable and devastated, and what you plan to do about it.

Don't make me stop this car!

Your posts are usually very informative and upbeat, and I enjoy seeing you here (albeit virtually), regularly... I agree with what's already been said by the other forumites. JP is a gentleman, and I'm sure a few PM's sent back and forth between you will help work things out.

You have our support here when you need it Spiral; stick around! You're welcome to PM or e-mail me about any health issues you might have; maybe I can help a bit...

Spiral - I always do dumb s**t. That's how I can tell who my real friends are...they kick my a$$ back into line and we move on better than before. The fair weather ones wouldn't take the time or trouble to help me.

Stick around...*I* don't want to see Kis stop the car!

Spiral, I don't know of anyone on the forum that hasn't had a slip up at one time or another, save maybe for Bill, Rusty and Yvsa. If they have it's been a long time ago.. We are all humans, I think. I havent seen everyone in person, maybe there is an extraterrestrial sitting behind a keyboard somewhere..
wonder who it could be.. :D

Gees, I gotta go get my coffee this morning..

LR, you make it sound like it could only be -one- of the guys around here. i can think of no less than 5 that i wouldn't want to meet in person without a foil hat:)
Seriously, Spiral, stick around get out what you need to get out. We were all brought here by khukuris at one point in time but have stuck around for something more. The guys that were -just- here for the knives bought their knives, asked their questions, and left. The rest of us "hang out" because we want to. I think that has to do with the fact that at least little bit of ourselves are all the same.

Take me off the list. I've said things I later regretted saying. It's part of being human.

Spiral, sometimes it's easier to retreat but there's little reward in retreat. Staying and working thru it will make you a better and stronger man. Your choice.

The H.I. forum has a very eclectic mix of contributors, and almost every single one has a big heart. Don't stay away for 6 months. I for one, appreciate your input, as I'm sure everyone else does. Do yourself a big favor, bite the bullet, and feel free to post. Don't pi$$ us off by leaving. :D

Best wishes! :)

Not all that long ago since I had to make my apologies.
We have all made our mistakes and screwups so no one is exempt, human or not.

Spiral,
I know everyone won't agree with this, but I don't think apologies on a forum like this serve any purpose other than to keep the wound open, if indeed, there ever was a wound in the first place. Threads usually only last a couple of days and are then forgotten about. Even when they are active, posts go in one eye and out the other and nobody really cares.

If you make a post that you feel was a mistake or an embarrassment, just let it pass and make the next one different. The opinions people form of you are like putty and change with every post you make.

I used to be thought of as a real azzhole. But, with a slight modification in posting style I became an unreal azzhole. However, I retain the ability to revert any time I feel the urge. And, I will never apologize for it.

I have two things to say, One, apologies are good, when they can be made, and Two, I believe I may have passed you on the ******* chart some while ago.
