I want to apologize for the exchange that transpired between Dagoth_Blur and myself in the above mentioned thread.. I posted my remarks based on my experience in the combatives field for the last 50 years and my involvement with the different combatives systems I have trained in and have taught. I didn't mean for the conversation to spin the way it did, but as a senior instructor in the arts that I teach, I have had this conversation about the grappling against knife several times over the last couple of decades... I kept my postings relevant to what I wanted to get across and based on my experiences.. It usually brings out the individuals who are fed by the dojo/studio fitness groups who teach martial arts as a side line to pay the rent... My experience comes from 20 plus years in the military and my 15 plus years in the law enforcement/security occupation with my travels through the Pacific rim countries and having lived here for the most part of the last 50 years... My associates in training include people who are and have retired from the Philippine special operations community as well as my instructors having fought in WW2 with the Filipino Scouts and participating in Guerrilla warfare against the occupying forces in the Philippines at that time.. Not that I am tooting my horn, but it has been a process for me to train with people who have kicked the elephant and lived to walk away, so I can pass on these skills to my students and those who might need my teachings to survive..

I didn't intend for the conversation to spin the way it did and I shut my involvement with the individual before it escalated,

Again, I want to thank the moderators and admins of this forum and apologize for any wrong doing that was taken by myself to distract from the regular conversations and the exchange of opinions with in the group

Muh thread got locked?! 😱

Just joking, no harm done lol. Bit sad though as there were some nice pics of really cool knives there. Also enjoyed reading the stories attached to the blades.
