Tonight I spoke with both Tom Anderson and Howard Viele. I apologized to Howard for getting into his fight and to Tom for making it public.
I believe that between the 3 of us it has been laid to rest.

I wish it were that easey to drop this for us consumers and flegling makers but I just don't think it will happen. Tom is a brother to us on this and other forums Allen, and you and Viele have discraced him. It's not as easy as that for us Tom, to just have someone appologize and think that's the end of it. I'm sorry. They have made you look bad and basically called you a "ripoff artist" when they are just as guilty as what they make you out to be doing. Mr. Anderson if Viele was your icon I now think you could have chosen someone better to look up to.

Hey folderVSfixed,
Cut him some slack here. I was one of the first to comment on the original thread in support of Tom. He says they worked it out. Allen stood up and apologized in front of 11,000+ members. I'm not defending what Allen said but sometimes things don't come across in type like they would in person, and it takes a man to apologize. He said he made a mistake because he was emotionally involved, let's leave it at that. Yes, it would have been better to handle in private, I think that's obvious now.If this affects your knife buying, so be it, but let's let it go.
Just my .02,
Dave

One more thing. You are also right that this has influenced my knife buying. I will now make it a point to purchase a knife from Mr. Anderson. His attidude, strength and sense of honor make him a maker whose knives I would be proud to own.

I sure do like honorable endings.

Wish I would have stayed up longer to see this last night, I would have had a better sleep.

This is the kind of character I like to see.
By all three of the principals. Big men do big things, and apoligizing and forgiving are big things. Now if the rest of us can catch the wave. LD

Cool. Nuff said.

he did not apologize in front of 11000 members...he merely reported that he apologized in private to the other two makers...

and i am NOT suggesting that he should attempt an apology on this forum...

So it seems that a few of us want to continue after the people directly involved have settled.
Take it to W&C or the good bad and ugly.
It does not belong here
