I'm havin' to do some prioritizin' an' rearrangin' in my household here which unfortunately includes SERIOUSLY thinnin' the knife herd around here. Anyways, I'm lookin' to keep at least one nice folder, and I'm putting about a $150 limit on it. I'm open to suggestions on exactly what would be the best bang for the buck in that range. There are a couple I'm already considering, which would be the SERE 2000 and the Buck Strider. Any info on these two knives or any other you'd like to add would be greatly appreciated!

Edited to stay outta trouble re: Sebbie

Benchmade 710.

Now that I've given you the best possible advice, please sell me that Sebenza.

Microtech LCC.
If you thinking about the strider, but want something a little classier, but still nails tough, this it.
although I do have to say the SERE and Strider are still both great choices.

Keep the Sebenza, sell the rest (and maybe some plasma).

Sorry to hear you have come upon rough times. :(

Kershaw Boa. Can't say enough good things about mine.

In fact, I'm trying to decide which I like better between my Boa and new Cobra at 4x the cost.

Try to consider the MT LCC. I also have the SERE 2000, but for me the MT LCC is a little better in terms of looks. All other features they would match up.

MT LCC
Spyderco Military
Kershaw/Ken Onion Boa

in that order... I'd get an LCC D/A, but it's only about 2x your range.

I would consider the following;

MOD CQD MKII (a ton of bang for the buck
Spyderco Chinook
SOG Vision
Spyderco Viele
MT LCC

I'd suggest you consider the Spyderco Wegner, and, tho well below the price you mentioned, the Outdoor Edge/Edge Tech Magna with aluminum handles.

Or, if you can hold off long enough, wait and get a new Spyderco Endura, when they come out with the VG-10 blades.

Having to choose just one knife to hang onto is both cruel and unjust :( Here is to happier times.

The tough thing about choosing just one knife is that it must satisfy all of your knifely urges - performance, durability, aesthetics and the "cool" factor. Given the choice of one $150 knife it would be a toss up between either the MT LCC Tactical or the BM 710. Both exceptional knives, but the LCC just covers all of the bases a little better.
