Hey guys. I figured I'd post this in General because I'm not sure where else to post it, plus I'd like to have a big audience.

So I was messing with my Kindle Fire (posting this from the fire via Tapatalk) and while looking for game apps came across a new knife publication called Knife Journal. I have absolutely zero ties to the publication. I figured I'd point that out since some of you may know that I'm a freelance writer. Didn't want to get that mixed up!

Anyway, if you have a tablet or smart phone check it out. It acted a little buggy at first but it's pretty cool and has videos. Oh it's free too. I wouldn't have paid for it necessarily, but I absolutely applaud their effort, and hope it gets traction. :)

Dowloaded it myself some time ago, and apart from some minor bugs as you mentioned, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would assume that future issues will probably cost a few bucks, but I think it has some great potential.

searched the key words in apple APP store with my itouch but found no result

doesn't it support apple devices?

I thought they did? The editor mentions the Ipad in the opening video sequence but I don't have an Ipad to confirm. The version that I dl'ed was specifically for the Fire.

i tried with my ipad again and found it
thanks
seems it's for ipad only rather than iphone or itouch

Thanks for letting us know about it. I just downloaded it.
Is it a monthly 'publication'?

I haven't had a chance to read it, but it looks interesting. Wish there was a table of contents.

Yeah the layout is kinda odd. Double tap to bring up the articles, scroll up and down to read them.

I have no idea if they are going to do more issues. I hope so. As for the dl size, for better or worse it's probably due to the videos.

I enjoyed the article on straight razors as I've been interested in trying one for years. I'm glad I didn't buy any old ones off the bay because I wasn't aware of the what to look for. I also enjoyed the customs gallery, although they could be higher resolution.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I'm going to tomorrow.

Good to see you btw Rachel. :) I'm heading off to the mountains right now and I'm taking my Opinel carver. ;)

They have a podcast as well, it's pretty good. It's a little more outdoors/bushcraft/fixedblade oriented.
