Appaloosa bone?

Ok.. Need some information from you experts. What is Appaloosa bone exactly? I understand its bone but can someone go into detail a little bit?

I think "Appaloosa" refers to the spotted dye job.

Case offered a dyed bone handle in several colors, and as noted above, the dye was done in a splotchy fashion which supposedly resembled the Appaloosa horse markings.

This is an example of Case green appaloosa -

and this one is a brown appaloosa -

GEC did a great job on the 54 cigar patterns in Appaloosa bone. It's a very close match to '70s Case Appaloosa bone.
