Apparently un-needed sticky taking up space.

The liberal posting rule sticky, 'The Anvil Shed' , doesn't seem to be very popular. I thought it would be more of a place for threads like David Martin's "Farm Life" to be created and continued. But, it has gone over a month without a post and some big gaps before that. So, I had another idea for its spot. A warranty and repair 'sticky' where we would could post some basic info and helpful hints for folks with problems. Photos would be a important point in that sticky thread environment for us to comment on. There would be useful standard information, threads with photos and recommendations, etc.

Ok, I am guessing the first comment will be yes to warranty/repair sticky but leave Anvil Shed sticky also. Well, I have received moderator discussion in pretty distant past now about keeping number of stickies in your forum to a low number. Of the four forums I actually read frequently the Buck forum has the most. And since we have not had a comment on the 'Shed' sticky in over a month it appears it is not needed. That is the reason I would delete it and replace it with a Warranty/repair sticky. I haven't noticed questions on those subjects slowing down any and most of the time we answer the questions with same repeated answers.

So, good idea or bad. ???? 300Bucks

Another to consider for possible elimination might be the "New Customs Ruling". It's been two years for that.

There are some others to consider: what about the 'All stag and ivory' topic? That gets posted in often, just 2 weeks ago. Another one is Armon's topic: 'All About Bucklites'. He usually brings that one up every Sunday morning right along with the 'Sunday Picture Show'. He hasn't since Christmas but Usually. These topics have drug on a Lot longer than mine.?
Still, if you want to move mine it's ok with me as my wife and I have already been having discussions about raising This year's meat and egg supply. So, a year is close to passing. We will always be having adventures on our farm, that involves rattlers, or a coyote after chickens and such. So, a year snap-shot is ok with me and I'll just let the thread die... In an effort to move forward I'm in favor of reducing the number of stickies at the top of our Buck Forum as we're in the double digits and I don't see this many in other Forums. Thanks, DM

I have a hard time throwing anything away. May you could transform it into a thread and let it sink or swim on it's own.

Perhaps combining the data sheet and date code threads would free up some space up top. The best information is on the first page of each of those threads.

Slip joint collecting comes and goes, but a sticky as a slip joint resource would be invaluable.

I feel like a Congressman with all the special interests lining up in the waiting room.

Right at the moment, my question was to dump the 'Shed' and replace it with Warranty info.

If you notice the other two stickys were started by CJ Buck and Joe Houser who let me be moderator of their factory forum.
I can't just pull out a '120' and cut them loose without discussing it with them. I can switch to a Warranty sticky from the Anvil Shed sticky on my own, but with either your nod yea or nay. It sounds more yea for switching than leaving the Shed sticky in place.....???? 300

I appreciate your attempt toward keeping the chatter lively and interesting. Thinking how to best enhance our offerings. I'll embrace change with you, should you want to do so. I believe I posted in the Shed thread and not much in the Custom Knife topic. I may not post in the warranty topic but in light of the last 2 months activity something like that needs to be here as it will get visited. DM

I've never been a fan of stickies in general. sometimes they work and other times they dont.

i have been enjoying David's farm thread though.

Get rid of Anvil. If you want a warranty sticky you can try it. But get rid of Anvil.

I was thinking a sticky on Bucks build outs might be worth considering.... They are part of Bucks history that any new collector and I'm sure some old ones would go to over and over. In recent threads the list of 110's has come up . And I know a few folks are making build out 's the focus of there collection's and a lot of us chase select models (112's in my case ) So a specific place we can discuss and share important information about them might be helpful. Especially the number made and most importantly original price. It sure will help a lot of folks figure there priorities and judge the value . So many Web specials dissappear in hours I never get to see them or the price. Just a listing on ebay. .

I say keep it, just because it was slow around the hunting and holiday season, is no reason to drop it...

I really thought the Anvil would be fun. I also thought it might be more active than it has been.
My vote is to leave it up and hopefully things will pick up a bit.

I'll leave it alone, unless we get more warranty questions than Shed posts in next two months....
