Applegate Anniversary dagger

Has anyone gotten to handle one of these yet?

I can't find anything other than the stock dealer picture & can't find any mention of anyone owning one yet.

Just got mine in two days ago. Blade is mirror polish 440C (5mm thick, my guess; about 1 in wide at hilt). Sharp out of box, can slice paper but not exactly razor sharp. Hilt is highly polish stainless steel. The grenadil wood handle is really nicely done, smooth and almost seamless fitting between the two scales. Very comfortable, very secure grip (from the grooves in the handle) and the fine wood grain looked really classy. Maybe because of the dense grenadil wood handle, this A-F blade is very pronouncedly handle heavy (even more so than a CS Tai Pan), i.e super lively in hand. I only wish they make a longer version (8 or 9 inch) version of this model.

Initially, I've doubt about purchasing this blade after hearing about the notorious Boker's QC and the steep asking price for a 440C blade (also about 2x that of a normal A-F). But I decided to take the plunge and was pleasantly surprised. This is only my 2nd Solingen Boker, the other being a Grabendoch 2000. It's fast becoming my favorite dagger after the Tai Pan. All in all a very well made dagger and given its limited 145 pieces run, well worth the price (around USD200, shop around). Hope it help:D.

ps. The sheath is leather. Well made but feel slightly cheap (light) and a bit clunky (weird loop design). The restraining strap can be prone to cut from blade extraction/re-sheathing. Leather quality not in the league of American-made leather sheath like those found on Bark River/ Blackjack knives.

Does the tip line up with the blade's center spine? These Applegate/ Fairbairns sometimes have this issue. I kept asking dealers to look at their stock for me but never found one of the grenidali handled versions without this issue. I'm hoping that this limited run had better QC.

No issue with mine. The tip is sharp and perfectly aligned with the spine. The grind job on this limited A-F is really good and is comparable to much more expensive daggers like the Tai Pan.

Great. Ordered one. Should be in this week. Looking forward to it. I've wanted a nice looking version of this dagger for a while but didn't feel like paying for an older Al Mar.

Please let us know how you like your Boker Applegate Anniversary dagger. I have two other Boker 145th Anniversary knives and the quality, polished blade and Grenadill handles are great on them.

Got mine in & I'm happy with it. The center spine lines up with the tip on both sides, which was my only worry. The mirror polished blade & guard are beautiful & I like the wood handle too. I actually like the feel of this material better than the standard A/F. Smooth but not slick & the grooves do their job. The balance seems the same.

Fit & finish are great all around. The regular A/Fs I've had have issues with the center spine not lining up with the tip & the other grenaldi handled version does, too (I'm looking for one of those if anyone has one available, btw). Factory daggers often have slight symmetry issues but this one is perfect & I'm very happy with it.

I may need another for my little dagger display if they don't vanish too quickly. I need one for a "fondling knife". If anyone is considering one of these, go ahead & pull the trigger. They feel great & look better in person.

Received mine and it's another excellent Anniversary knife with the polished blade and Grenadill wood handle. The fit and finish on these are excellent. Like the others it comes in excellent packaging with a certificate of authenticity and serial number on the cert and blade.

Here's a picture of all three 145th Anniversary Limited Editions:
