Can anyone give my some tips to sharpen this beast?

It is double edged but sharpened on only one side of the knife blade like some of the Emersons. The other side is somewhat concave.
I use a sharpmaker on my other knives but will it work to sharpen this blade. I know the knife is optimized for thrusting and penetration but is it possible to get the edges at least shaving sharp? Do I need to reprofile?

Thanks in advance.

Rod Chapple of Davis Knives did the first of these I have seen, He called it the Eagle Talon.

Why not sharpen from the double ground side at about 25 degrees by sharpening into the edge to avoid a burr and at most a VERY CAREFUL buff or strop on the reverse.
