I have an Applegate Fairbairn Covert in mint condition. This is a 'First Production Run' knife. A fine carry knife!

What might be the dollar collector value of this knife hold?

Thanks Steve

Maybe it's the flash, but the clip on that knife looks a bit worn...i.e. not 'mint'. 'Mint', 'NIB', both these terms mean, to me anyways, absolutely no signs of use. My .02.

That's a nice knife; I think it's the best of the Applegate Covert folders.
Excellent flat grind ATS-34 blade.
Better than the current production IMO.

If I can make a suggestion, I'd say you should keep it.
(Though to answer your question, I've seen them sell pretty consistently in the 60-80 dollar range.)

yeah the 1st prod run A-F coverts dont have really any collector value its worth what any other LNIB covert would be, imho ~$50 or so.

of course the one in the pic doesnt look LNIB so make that $30 or $40 tops.

Thanks for the help here-this is such a great site!

The pic is misleading with the glare-clip is not worn at all.

I bought it several years ago and only carried it a few times-then went in gun cabinet.

sometimes photos can be misleading lol.

though to be honest i wouldnt call anything i had carried LNIB but thats just me lol.

I have upwards of 60 folders in my collection from Benchmade, Kershaw and Spyderco, all of which are NIB except for 3 that I EDC. With respect to clips, especially black-finished ones, it's obvious to me at least that many of these makers must pick their clips from a bin where they're jumbled together with others before attaching to the knife and as a result the clips often show minor signs of wear and uneven finish right out of the box even though the knives have never even been handled let alone carried (in these cases, the rest of the knife is totally unblemished). This used to bother me alot, but I'm getting used to it...:D

In my opinion the Gerber in question looks new even with the flash on the clip, and those of you claiming otherwise are just being picky. Just my opinion...YMMV.

Ray :)
