I know I've seen this question recently but did not catch the answer or subscribe to the thread, and my search has come up empty.

What's the best way to apply Gun Kote? Some mentioned spraying, would a simply hobby airgun work? Or would dipping do it?

Sorry for the redundancy.

I use a $20 air brush I got at cummins tools. It works very well. I would try a small amount in your hobby airgun on a piece of scrap steel and see how it works.

David.

You can also take a heat gun and follow yourself as you spray. It takes a little practice but it works well.

Not to bake it Dave, just dry it. You sort of mix the strokes between the sprayer and heat gun. It still needs to be baked.

Gotcha. Thanks Don. I'm getting pretty psyched about this project, wish I had some other stuff out of the way. My sketch is about where I want it but I'm going to use the photocopier at work to make it a little bigger. ;) Hope I can grind it, I've always kinda built my knives around my skills but this is going the other way... :D
