Just got some Ren Wax to use on a few of my knives. My question for folks who use it is this: is there any particular kind of cloth you use or recommend with the wax?

I put mine on with some clean white cotton cloth.Read the instructions.I rememmber it said to use it very sparingly.A little bit goes a long way.Make sure you clean the knife 1st and let it dry.

Cotton cloth is fine. I use an old t-shirt myself (that is clean of course). Just wipe it on, let dry for a few seconds and polish with another cloth :)

I just use a white cotton cloth and rub it in straight from the tin.

However ..
On a recient vist to Leeds Armoury (UK museum), one of our group asked one of the curators how they protected their steel display items. Acording to the curator they use Ren-Wax applied with a soft brush. Load the brush with wax, and then with a hairdrier gently heat the brush and the blade, when the wax begins to run brush it onto the blade. Apparently this helps the wax penatrate the smallest of crevises.

The wax actually goes on pretty "wet" already (without any heat). Ive used it the last few years with good results just following the directions on the label.
