I have a collection of knives that I recently aquired and I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get them appraised in the San Jose, CA area. Included in this collection are a couple of Reddiex, S.R. Johnson, Keith Coleman custom made knives, a couple of Randall knives. I have six Italian made automatic knives, and a couple of emerson production knives.

You can probably find many of the prices on on Ebay. When in doubt feel free to ask one of us. Perferably on the Levine forum.

I'll take the SR Johnson's off your hands. They are probably worth, oh, only about $50 dollar apiece. His work is usually so ugly and shoddily constructed that nobody in their right mind would think of paying more than that for them.

Seriously, try Bernard Levine or contact somebody like Les Robertson or Steve Harvey at Nordic Knives (Solvang CA).

Take a trip to Castello's Gun Shop on Lincoln Ave. (Willow Glen District) in San Jose (408)264-6212.

Joe Castello has the largest selection of knives in the Bay Area and is quite knowledgeable on values. Look at his Randall set hanging on the wall.

He is quite a character and will give you his honest opinion whether you ask for it or not. The entertainment value is well worth the trip.

Tell him I sent you, but don't admit to knowing me.

Stay sharp,

Jim
