I understand that apprentice blades are not typically made from Infi (the current release is an obvious exception). However, does anybody know whether or not older apprentice blades are heat treated? An apprentice blade in D2 with Jerry's heat treat would still be one heckuva blade.

Got any pics? If they are coated then I am pretty sure they are HTed. From what I recall...the smaller ones the size of a AD/MS are 5160 and the larger SHSH2 look-a-like is A2

That one is most likely HTed 5160. I had a similar one that I modded a while ago. Ended up as the prize for my giveaway contest.
