Title says it all. Were these even issued with sword knots? Saber and leather scabbard are correct black color.

So far, all I see that are "suitable" are some Brit Army leather sword knots in either brown or black leather.

Bullion type sword knot would be inappropriate, I think. Wall hanger use.

ETA: I did spot this "plausible" unit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09V2WTCQ...3HFHGTWN&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I have never seen one employed in pictures. If any, I would think white buff would look the best.

Here is a 1906 cavalry with an infantry knot (m1902)

and a Dutch klewang knot circa 1911

That's available for reenactment,

Found a brown repro Klewang sword knot for sale, we'll see what else turns up. Certainly plausible, and thanks!

Obviously ceremonial. Shiny copper in the field would be a no go. Really looks good though. Do you know which unit was using it?

For parade. The notes are long gone. I had posted more of that picture set at vikingsword

SFI is where it surfaced and at one point, one of the Forged In Fire people had contacted me for the images and I had to defer to the owner of the cutlass.

More recent discussion about the klewang model is posted to the USM forum

You'll see a fair number of 1916 Patton swords plated for garrison officers and the China USMC, just prior to WWII.

Cheers
