The title says it all. Has any headway been made on the approval process? I really hope this project doesn't die.

Another question: Why does the production of this knife need Bladeforums.com approval? Is it going to be sold through BF? Other than a thread that started here, what`s the connection between BF and this knife? I`m not sure I understand why there is a hold up on this knife being produced.

I agree with steveB. Joe, let's go ahead and build them. I am ready to order NOW!

Fellas,
This knife will be for Bladeforum members only and will have the BF logo also. I believe it will be sold through BF, and there will only be a limited number.
In past years this has been done with Spyderco Natives and Rekat Sifu's.
So the design and specifics need to be worked out between BF and Buck.

It`s been forever, already! Build them without the BF logo and sell thru the Buck website. This is ridiculous.

I'm with Steve B. again, I don't care who's logo is on the blade. I want the knife with the right features and materials.

I'm starting to think the same thing. It sure doesn't look like this knife will get approved by Mike. I'm at a loss as to why. I wish Mike or Spark would let us know what is the status. Will it get approved or won't it.

Maybe Joe can call it something else and have it produced.

Sigh....
I heard that our guy in charge was going to call Mike today, 3/13, and see whats going on. I have not heard back.

Thanks Joe. I know I'm being a pain in the A**, I don't really mean to, I just want to see the knife get made so I can buy it.

I`m an unrepentant pain-in-the-a$$, Joe. I guess Mike didn`t bother getting back to you. What do you say about making this a PCKS special? Let`s order them through the Buck website and forget about making this a BF knife.

I second that motion. While I appreciate the web site, I don't have to have it emblazoned on my knife blade!

I wanted it to be a Bladeforums knife, but it sure doesn't look like that will happen. I want the knife more than the Bladeforums logo. I like the idea of it being a PCKS special.

The latest word i have is from 3/22. Still no word back yet. I can imagine that Mike must be swamped.
We have steel alocated, and buffalo horn secured. I would venture to say that one way or another, the knives will be made.

That is good news Joe! Hopefully Mike will contact you with approval. Still I'm very happy that the knife will get produced anyway.

Joe? How about making a run of these and give us first crack at them, then release to the general public. Put them on Buck's site if Mike's not interested. BTW, how about doing the same treatment on 503's? With red, white, and blue micarta scales. As an American set?
