I picked up an old timer folding hunter at the flea market the other day. It is lightly sharpened and stamped with the schrade- walden stamp. also on the clip blade is etched "Alaskan old timer hunter". handles are great condition with origional sheath. What is an approximate value?
thanks

P.S Hi, I'm new here. I am 15 love knives, especially the old schrades and bokers. I love the muskrat pattern knives (as my name says).

Larry and Phil are the ones to give you the low-down on the Alaskan Hunter. With 4 1/2" blades, it exceeds many states imposed blade size limit, particularly for a minor, so be careful about carrying it and showing it to friends.

I do not have any of the old style folding hunters like the 25OT, 125OT, 225OT, and their brothers the 225 and 225H, 127UH AND 227UH. Those will likely be the next series I turn my attention to. They all began with, I believe, in the early sixties and were discontinued by the early nineties. Check back in a bit and you will have your answers.

Thanks codger. I'm all good in my state. It sits in my box with my other knives as I don't carry it. No worries about showing it to friends as I have none! LOL.
thanks again

In the condition described, I would guesstimate that you could get at least 40-50 $ for it on ebay. I've seen a few go higher and some lower. My advice is keep it, its a great knife. Unless you're pressed for money,I can't think of a good reason to sell off one of these in the condition you described. Use it, take good care of it, and pass it on to your son or daughter someday. Thats what I'm going to do.

Welcome MuskratMan! Glad you've joined us.

There is a 25OT Alaskan Old Timer on ebay right now. We can all watch and see what the value of it is.
Alaskan

The 25OT was first produced in 1964 and was in production until 1993.

In that nice of condition and with the sheath, I dare say it will not stay that cheap for long. The blade scratches are easily enough taken care of.
