aproximate age and/or model # help needed

I've been trying to research this Boker, and havn't seen others with this shield.
It's stamped BOKER over USA.
reverse side has a small tree stamp and the numbers are pretty much indiscernable.

I believe that pattern is probably a 5974.
The manufacture date would be somewhere mid 1940s to early 1950s.

Thanx, rangerbluedog. That shield does look correct. The pic of the 5974 is cut off in the scan but I think you may have nailed it. My sample certainly has seen better days... But for a 60-70 year old it's still kickin'.

After reviewing the scan again I noticed multiple blades were stamped. Mine only has a stamping on the sheepsfoot.
Any possible significance?

Probably. The scan is an older knife, pre WW2.
Yours would have been made after the war. When the BOKER/USA stamp was used, it was usually only on one blade.
There are exceptions of course
