OK, I need some help. I ordered a popular brand AR 15. It is my first. It came in today and I put a down payment on it. It's a 1000 bucks. So, as I was lookin it over everything looked great until I turned the gun upside down and got the light just right. From the gas block to the tip of the barrel, there are tiny nick's in the stainless bull barrel about 20 or 25. So ..... what do I do .... send it back for a new.... or say aaahh you cant see the nicks unless the light is just right ?

Do they look like tool marks? They are common on some barrels, just don't notice it much since they are coated over.

If you have to turn it upside down and hold it just right I would probably not worry about. However, it's you money so if you're not happy talk to the dealer. The next one may be the same though if it is tool marks.

Yes. I cant think of anything else that the nicks could be. I also thought of it not being coated. everything is really tight on it which is good. So I thought I would ask just to see what everybody else thought.

Your $1K - if you haven't taken delivery, ask your dealer to look at others in stock to see if a common blemish or just the way they are.

I'd go look at one of mine but they are well used tools with attendant character marks from use.

Not so sure Miss America could pass the test under just the right light but that's me.

Have fun with your new rifle..you will soon know why it's called EBRD - Evil Black Rifle Disease - you probably will wind up with more than one.

It's an AR, not an English best gun. There are going to be minor tool marks present on even the top of the line brands. It's not going to hurt function any.

Here's a tip - next time inspect the gun before handing your money over.

Mine has tool marks and nicks in various places, even back when it was new I found some.

So do mine, and my 2 ARs are made by Noveske and KAC. ARs are fighting weapons, not presentation grade firearms. A beautiful finish is not a top priority; parkerization shows that much.

I know, I think it just hurt alittle because ive been looking at it for more than a year..... Ill prob just keep it. For those that said look before i buy....It was a special order
